Auditing

Austrak's Management System is audited by external certification bodies SAI Global for ISO9001 Quality Assurance and ISO4001 Environment and SciQual for AS4801 Occupational Health and Safety. Currently these audits are undertaken on an annual surveillance and a triennial re-certification basis.

Austrak has its own comprehensive internal auditing procedures. Internal systems audits are conducted on a six-monthly basis by the System Manager at all factories. The factories operate under an internal Audit Standard and Audit Schedule that requires quarterly audits of its Standard Work Procedures and Work Environment Standards to ensure the factory’s ongoing compliance and continual improvement.

Each audit evaluates the factory’s plant and operating procedures for compliance to ensure:

  • Correct procedures are being followed
  • Identify improvements to practices and equipment to improve quality, safety and the environment
  • Ensure compliance with legislation
  • Evaluate housekeeping and maintenance of plant and equipment
  • Identify hazards
  • Conclusion and recommendations with action plans

Each audit report shall be reviewed and approved by the factory manager and evaluated by the operations manager and system manager at regular intervals.
