Austrak's head office is in Brisbane and its current manufacturing facilities are located in Rockhampton QLD, Geelong VIC and Port Hedland WA. An additional manufacturing facility is planned to open in Wagga Wagga NSW in mid-2007.

Wickham

1987 to 1993 - 70,000 sleepers/year

The Wickham factory was established to manufacture 37.5t axle load standard gauge sleepers for the Robe River iron ore railway line to replace all of its timber sleepers with concrete. This contract started very slowly but was finally completed one year ahead of schedule after producing 327,000 sleepers with a factory capacity of 70,000 sleepers per year.
