Austrak's head office is in Brisbane and its current manufacturing facilities are located in Rockhampton QLD, Geelong VIC and Port Hedland WA. An additional manufacturing facility is planned to open in Wagga Wagga NSW in mid-2007.

Port Hedland

1987 to 1998 - 95,000 sleepers/year

This factory was established to manufacture 50t axle load sleepers for Mt Newman Mining (BHP Iron Ore). The factory originally had a capacity of 50,000 sleepers per year and was upgraded to manufacture 95,000 sleepers per year. The factory was decommissioned in 1998 after it produced a total of 609,000 sleepers.
