Austrak's head office is in Brisbane and its current manufacturing facilities are located in Rockhampton QLD, Geelong VIC and Port Hedland WA.
An additional manufacturing facility is planned to open in Wagga Wagga NSW in mid-2007.

Mackay
1983 to 1999 - 200,000 sleepers/year
The first Australian factory at Mackay in Queensland with a capacity of 200,000 sleepers per year was built in 1983. It produced narrow gauge sleepers for Queensland Rail using both Fist and Pandrol fastening systems. The factory produced 2.1 million sleepers and 1,100 turnout beam sets plus 1.2 million 2ft gauge sleepers for the sugar cane industry before it was finally decommissioned in 1999.
