Austrak's head office is in Brisbane and its current manufacturing facilities are located in Rockhampton QLD, Geelong VIC and Port Hedland WA. An additional manufacturing facility is planned to open in Wagga Wagga NSW in mid-2007.

Townsville

1997 to 2002 - 250,000 sleepers/year

A third factory was built in Queensland at Townsville, to supply sleepers for the Mt Isa railway and the Queensland Rail Tilt Train track. This factory was built in 1997 and has been decommissioned after producing 730,000 sleepers. This factory had a capacity of 250,000 sleepers per year.
