Our commitment

Austrak operates a number of precast rail sleeper facilities throughout Australia. In harmony with our vision and values, we are committed to effective environmental management.

To achieve this Austrak:

• communicates with clients and other interested parties to ensure we understand and address their environmental concerns
• complies with environmental laws, regulations, codes, standards, and other legal and contractual requirements
• implements and maintains an Environmental Management System that complies with AS/NZS ISO 14001
• continually improves in all areas of operations, including those activities which affect the land, water and air
• prevents pollution
• reduces waste
• conserves resources
• disposes of hazardous and waste products properly
• sets and reviews objectives and targets including the allocation of responsibilities and resources
• increases environmental awareness of employees, consultants and subcontractors through communication, induction and training.

All staff are required to cooperate with and assist management in achieving these principles and improving Austrak’s environmental performance.
