Our commitment

The management of Austrak is committed to planning, implementing and maintaining an effective rehabilitation programme.

To achieve this Austrak:

• ensures that rehabilitation begins as soon as possible after a work-related incapacity, consistent with medical judgement and in accordance with the relevant Workers’ Compensation Act
• ensures that a return to work, as soon as possible after the incapacity is a normal practice and expectation
• provides appropriate duties for incapacitated employees, where practicable
• consults with employees and any industrial union representing them, to ensure that our rehabilitation programmes operate effectively
• ensures that participation in a rehabilitation programme will not, in itself, prejudice an incapacitated employee.

All staff are required to co-operate with management in achieving the objectives of this policy.
