> 2. Prestressing

Either wire or strand can be used for step 2. Although the method of installing wire or strand into the bed differs, the outcome is the same, i.e. to place the predetermined length of tendon in the bed. The tendons are then stressed and both prestress force and elongation length is checked to ensure correct stress levels are achieved.
