Flying the Austrak flag in the Middle East

March 4 2013

MiddleEastRail 2013 was held in Dubai on 5 - 7 February and Austrak exhibited there for the first time this year.

The Middle East has one of the world's fastest developing rail industries and the MiddleEastRail 2013 exhibition was the ideal platform for Austrak to showcase their new sleeper factory in the UAE to the region's top government authorities and rail operators. It also presented an excellent opportunity to meet with local agents and bidders for the Etihad Rail Stage 2 project.

Larry Hadley, General Manager of the Austrak factory in Jebel Ali said it was good to gain exposure to related businesses across the region.

"We received expressions of interest from Sudan, Iran, Iraq, Jordan and Oman and they all know we are here now," said Larry.

Additionally, attendees were impressed with Austrak's capability in the Middle East and the logistics of shipping sleepers from Jebel Ali across to Australia.

Austrak is looking forward to being part of the growing rail market in the region.
